Before you install

No public signing identity yet.

This public Alpha ships before our Developer ID and Authenticode identities are in place. macOS and Windows will ask for one extra confirmation on first launch.

The warning is expected

The macOS build is not notarized. Windows builds do not carry an Authenticode signature.

Checksums verify the file

Every artifact includes the SHA-256 produced with that exact release. It verifies integrity, not publisher identity.

Stable has a higher gate

Public signing and macOS notarization are required before the stable distribution channel.

First launch

One extra confirmation, once.

macOS

Allow Forjal in Privacy & Security.

1Open the DMG and drag Forjal to Applications.
2Try to open Forjal once from Applications.
3Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
4Confirm with Open.

Windows

Confirm the SmartScreen prompt.

1Run the installer for your architecture.
2When SmartScreen appears, choose More info.
3Choose Run anyway.
4Finish the per-user installation. Administrator access is not required.

On a managed computer, organizational policy may block unsigned apps. Ask your administrator before attempting to install.
